A romantic kiss at the Cape Cod Canal

Sharing with my International pen pals includes tales of the state of Massachusetts.  I lived on Cape Cod for many years.  My description to one pen pal resulted in him sending me back a vocabulary list, which I was very happy about!

Cape is a piece of land jutting into the sea.  Many visit Cape Cod in the summer to swim.  Because the Cape is on the Atlantic ocean, it gets cool breezes.  City dwellers escape the heat by visiting the beach.

Wild roses grow on the sand dunes.  Very pretty.

jutting : 튀어나온
stick out : 눈에 띄다.
breeze : 미풍
dweller : 거주자
dune : 모래언덕, 사구
