Studying Korean at Emory College

Available free from ITunes is an interview with student Squeenie Tsang and her professor Bumyong Choi from Emory college.

Squeenie talks about how her friends were watching Korean dramas and listening to KPop, so she became interested in the Korean language.  This led her to taking a class in the Korean language at Emory college and then studying abroad in Korea.   Squeenie had no knowledge of Korean prior to class, so she struggled learning Hangul at first, but eventually found the practice conversations helped her to be able to speak.

Squeenie uses KDramas to study Korean.  She says, watching TV worked for her to learn English as a second language.  I thought she was a native English speaker!
