一 Being afraid of a single line

I have not yet worked up the courage to try Hanja calligraphy.  I thought I would start with the number one 一.  It is just one line.  How hard could that be?

Only, I simply do not know where to start.  What type of paper?  What type of pen?  What type of ink?  Will I have to mix it myself with a stone and ink stick?  How will I know the right consistency?  Don’t I need graph paper as a beginner?  Should I start with those mats that you draw on with water?

Is there a difference between the Chinese and Korean paper?

LovingKorean found a website that shows Hangul calligraphy.  It even has a video.

Some day, when I know more, I will have a good laugh at being so intimidated by this.  For now, I simply try to work up my courage to order the supplies and give it a go.
