Raccoon Dog 너구리 Noguri

Raccoon Dogs can be found throughout much of Japan, Korea, China and Siberia.  My farmer friend told me that water deer  and raccoon dogs are a headache because they eat the sweet potato leaves, corn, young radish leaves and sorghum.  Raccoon dogs have curved nails so they can climb trees and hibernate in the winter.

Raccoon Dog fur is used in the production of calligraphy brushes.

Racoon dogs (너구리) are also called 貉, Tanuki or Magnut.
