Rudiments

Rudiments of grammar. Guts.  Essentials.  Quick referral for often used elements in Korean. See “Reference” or “Flashcards” for more information.

Particles~한테 to (in speech), ~한테서 from (in speech), ~에 “at”, “to”, “in” (time, direction, location), ~에서 “at”, “in”, “on” (location),  ~(으)로 “to”,”into”,”with”,”by” (direction, change, means), ~의 “of” (possessive), ~하고 “and”, “with” (in speech), ~ “only”, “just”, ~부터  “from”, ~까기 “from”

Verb/Endings~서 “so”, ~고  “and”and then, ~러 for the purpose,  lack of ability,  not,  ability or possibility,  knows how or has ability to do something well,  ~지만 but, ~거나 or, ~기 ing.

Verbs can be changed into noun modifiers (adjectives).  In the present tense, that is V-는 or A-ㄴ/은.  Past tense V/A-ㄴ/은. Future tense V/A-(으)ㄹ.

Of the vowels, there are 8 monothongs (단모음)ㅏ ㅓ ㅗ ㅜ ㅡ ㅣ ㅐ ㅔ and 13 diphthongs (이중모음): ㅑ ㅕ ㅛ ㅠ ㅒ ㅖ ㅘ ㅝ ㅙ ㅞ ㅚ ㅟ ㅢ.
